Indian Half Eagles
1909-D $5 MS65 PCGS. The 1909-D is one of the most readily seen Indian Head five dollar gold issues in Mint State grades through MS64, but its certified population drops off precipitously in Gem condition, when the issue becomes very scarce. The headdress band and feathers display crisp detail, as do the eagle's feathers. Satiny luster glistens over marvelously preserved light gold surfaces with rose and green accents. PCGS lists five finer submissions (3/17).
