Early Eagles
1799 $10 Small Obverse Stars, BD-7, R.3 -- Damage -- PCGS Genuine. Unc Details. Bass-Dannreuther Die State a/b. The area of damage is beneath the bust tip between the date and star 13, as well as in the lower right field and bust edge. Shallow abrasions and small nicks exist in those areas beyond normal abrasions or marks. Otherwise, the fields are reflective and the coin is sharply defined. The reverse appears to be wholly unimpaired and fully Mint State. Attractive green-gold color covers the smooth fields (where undamaged) and lightly frosted devices. The BD-7 is moderately scarce with 250 to 350 survivors, known for its irregular date with the 17 tilted to the right and the second 9 close to the bust drapery.
