Liberty Double Eagles
1850 $20 AU53 PCGS. This well-detailed first-year double eagle displays light high-point wear with soft amber-colored patina where the friction has occurred. The remainder of the coin displays bright yellow-gold as is consistent with double eagles struck from the ore mined during the California Gold Rush. An array of scattered abrasions appear on each side, while areas of prooflike mirroring can be seen in the protected peripheral regions of the fields.
