1860-S $20 AU55 PCGS. CAC. The mintage of 544,950 pieces saw heavy circulation on the West Coast, where few coins were preserved in high grades. This Choice About Uncirculated example retains a portion of its original mint luster and pleasing medium, natural-gold color. Light abrasions and surface chatter include a short mark near the ear and a grouping of shallow marks near stars 1 and 2. Still, the eye appeal is excellent as indicated by the CAC endorsement. CAC: 22 in 55, 34 finer (9/16).
