1861-S $20 AU53 PCGS. The San Francisco Mint struck 768,000 double eagles with the regular reverse after reverting back from the Paquet design. The 1861-S has become more accessible in high grades because of recent shipwreck discoveries, but it remains scarce at this level or finer. The motifs retain strong definition with full star radials. A lovely reddish-gold No Motto coin with scattered marks.
