1864-S $20 AU58 PCGS. The 1864-S double eagle is a better date in high grade, scarce in AU58 and exceedingly so in Mint State. Only a handful of Mint State coins are known finer than MS62. This near-Mint coin displays a bold strike from unlapped dies, with frosty orange-gold luster in the fields. Scattered abrasions accompany a brush of high-point wear. Population: 45 in 58, 53 finer (3/17).
