1874 $20 MS61 NGC. Mint State 1874 double eagles are exceedingly scarce and usually found no higher than MS61 or MS62. Original shades of rose and green-gold blend with frosty luster. Full radial lines are apparent on the stars, and the eagle's feathers are well-delineated. Myriad abrasions are expected of a Type Two double eagle at this grade level. There are only 26 finer grading events at NGC (3/17).
