Liberty Double Eagles
1874 $20 MS61 PCGS. PCGS reports the lion's share of grading events for the 1874 Philadelphia issue, counting just 50 numerically finer examples than the present MS61 coin. Like most Type Two double eagles, the 1874 is scarce in any Uncirculated grade and rare in high Mint State conditions. This vibrant and frosted coin displays a good strike with rich-gold color. The expected obverse chatter exists, but no heavy marks distract the eye. Unbroken cartwheel luster sweeps across both sides.
