1896-S $20 MS62 Prooflike NGC. Prooflike 1896-S double eagles are rarely offered, most often seen in MS61 or at best MS62, though a single MS63 is reported finer. Deep orange-gold color covers reflective fields and fully struck devices. As the grade suggests, marks are scattered throughout, including a few overt distractions on the cheek. Census: 15 in 62 (1 in 62★) Prooflike, 1 finer (3/17).
