1899-S $20 MS64 NGC. 1899-S double eagles, sporting a mintage more than 2 million pieces, are easy to obtain through the Select grade level. The near-Gem population declines significantly, and NGC and PCGS have seen only 14 coins finer (3/17). The yellow-gold surfaces of this MS64 example radiate intense luster and are minimally abraded. All design elements are sharply struck.
