This well-defined and satiny green-gold representative is smooth aside from faint hairlines and a linear mark on the top of the eagle. Moffat & Co. was the most respected of the Gold Rush coiners, and their reputation lived up to the abbreviation S.M.V. (for Standard Mint Value) on the reverse legend.
