SICILY, Messana (as Zankle). Circa 500-493 BC. Drachm (Silver, 21mm, 6.13 g). DANKLE Dolphin to left within the sickle-shaped harbor of Messana. Rev. Design of raised and sunk squares and triangles; in the center, cockle shell. Gielow 53-57 ff. SNG ANS 299. Attrac­tively toned. Some die rust, otherwise, good very fine.
