Obv. +IhS XPS RЄX RЄÇNANTIЧM Nimbate figure of Christ seated facing on high backed throne with curved arms decorated with pearls. He is wearing pallium and colobium; r. hand raised in benediction, Book of Gospels in left.
Rev. +COnSTAnTInOS CЄ ROMAn Єn XW b R Standing figure of Constantinus VII on r. in loros and Romanus II on l. in chlamys. Both are crowned and holding globus cruciger, as well as a long patriarchal cross in the middle.

Sear prefers Cecile Morrison's view that the Romanus depicted on this issue is Romanus II.
