Rev AΛΕZΙW ΔΕC-ΠOT TW KOMNH. Crowned emperor in loros standing facing with cruciform sceptzre and globus crucifer.
Sear 1896. DOC pl. 2, 3-5.
Very rare. Very fine.
With this issue the Byzantine gold coinage reached its low point. There was no gold in these coins and even silver was often debased.
Purchased from Rauch, Vienna, in March 1978.
