UMAYYAD: Tanbala b. Marra, dates unknown, AE fals (2.06g), NM, AH1x5, A-A204var, some light corrosion, appears to be unpublished governor for the late Umayyad or early Abbasid period, Fine to VF, RRR. The governor's name "tambala" is a tentative reading of the name, but the patronymis "marra" is certain. It is known that circa 730s-740s a certain Rabid b. Marra was send by the Sind governor Junayd b. 'Abd al-Rahman al-Marri to invade sections on the west coast of India, and it is likely that this ruler, however his name should be deciphered, was part of the same Marra family engaged in Sind.
