FULAYTID SHARIFS OF MECCA: Mukaththir b. 'Isa b. Fulayta, 1188-1197, AR dirham (1.17g), NM, ND, A-1159M, Zeno-30128 (different dies), legends al-amir / mukaththir obverse, al-imam / ahmad on reverse, referring to the Abbasid caliph al-Nasir, VF, RRRR. The Zeno specimen was sold at Peus Auction 388, Lot 1376, for the equivalent of $1277 in 2006, but this piece is a much finer strike, without the weakness on the Zeno piece. It appears to be either the 2nd or 3rd reported example of the rare Meccan type.
