•Sayles, W. Ancient Coin Collecting. (1996) Hardcover with dust jacket. 197 pages including an extensive bibliography. Wayne was the publisher of the ancient coin journal The Celator for many years and this introductory volume was part of his useful series on ancient coins.
•Van Meter, D. Collecting Greek Coins. (1990) Card covers. 144 pages plus 18 b&w plates. The strength of this book is in its expansive overview of the Greek world and its coinage.
