Dav-LS233; KM-A269. Fields smoothed as was the practice of some collectors of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. This is thought to have been done in order to enhance their appearance. The smoothing on the present example was done quite a long time ago as the presence of tiny nicks and contact marks in the fields suggest that this piece was handled and saw minor circulation afterwards. Well struck and attractive slate grey tone throughout with a lovely golden honey sheen. PCGS Genuine--Damage, EF Details Secure Holder.
