Nero (54-68). AR Denarius, Rome mint, struck c. 65-66 AD. Obv. NERO CAESAR AVGVSTVS. Laureate head right. Rev. VESTA. Hexastyle temple faςade; within, Vesta seated left on throne, holding patera and long sceptre. RIC 62. AR. g. 3.48 mm. 19.00 R. An outstanding example, perfectly centred on unusually broad flan. Great metal, with underlying luster. From fresh, exceptionally detailed and masterly engraved dies. Very rare in this amazing condition. Good EF/About FDC.
