Kingdom of Macedon, Alexander III 'the Great' AR Tetradrachm. Lifetime issue. Uncertain mint, circa 336-323 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin headdress / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left holding sceptre; AΛEZANΔPOY BAΣIΔΕΩZ downwards on either side, with the latter starting directly under the eagle; no visible control symbols or monograms.
