Lincoln Cents
1914-D 1C MS65+ Red PCGS. The 1914-D Lincoln cent in high grade is far scarcer than the 1909-S VDB, which was widely saved at the time of issue. This high-end Gem '14-D has only a few superiors. The strike is good, and satiny copper-red luster shows no major distractions. We have previously handled only a single Plus-graded Gem Red example of this key Denver issue, in lot 4626 of our October 2014 PNG Invitational Signature auction. The CAC-approved coin realized $28,200. We would not be surprised to see the present example match or surpass that strong figure. Population: 71 in 65 (8 in 65+) Red, 7 finer (4/17).
