Three Cent Silver
1868 3CS MS66 PCGS. CAC. Coming from a scant mintage of 3,500 coins, the 1868 silver three cent is scarce in all grades and genuinely rare at the Mint State level. It is arguably rarer in Uncirculated condition than the 1867. Only a single coin is known finer than the present piece, placing this example firmly within the Condition Census. The strike is full and the fields are modestly reflective. Well-balanced olive-green, gold, and bluish hues complement a lack of abrasions. The visual appeal of this piece is exceptional. CAC-endorsed in a green label holder. Population: 4 in 66, 1 finer. CAC: 3 in 66, 1 finer (4/17).
