Three Cent Silver
1872 3CS MS66 PCGS. CAC. The final circulation strike in the silver three cent series is a challenge in any grade. PCGS reports only 34 Mint State coins in all grades, with seven in MS66 or better condition. Only 1,000 pieces were struck, promoting this issue as a key date in any state of preservation. The current Premium Gem is delightfully toned in concentric multicolor hues with golden centers. The strike is only slightly soft on the central shield high points, and the reflectivity in the fields balances the eye appeal. A finer 1872 silver three cent may not appear at auction for a long time. Housed in a green label holder with CAC approval. Population: 4 in 66, 3 finer. CAC: 5 in 66, 2 finer (4/17).
