Buffalo Nickels
1937-D 5C Three-Legged, FS-901, MS65 NGC. The usual die erosion in the fields and design recesses is present on this Gem three-legged coin, although the surfaces are devoid of even minor abrasions. A light golden hue accents the satiny luster. Weakness in the strike appears on the bison's shoulder, as well as the hair above the Indian's braid. This is a major Guide Book variety and is somewhat scarce in MS65. Finer representatives are decidedly rare. The current coin shimmers when rotated beneath a light and is arguably superior to its peers from an aesthetic perspective. It resides in a prior generation holder.
