Proof Seated Dimes
1859 10C PR66 Cameo PCGS. F-101, R.4. The official recorded mintage of proof dimes in 1859 was 800 pieces, the largest production total up to that point. Surviving examples are occasionally available in the absolute sense, but few are known with Cameo contrast. This Premium Gem representative displays bold, frosty devices, with glassy mirroring in the fields. Splashes of sun-gold, pale violet, and aquamarine encompass the recesses, giving this carefully preserved proof exceptional eye appeal. Population: 7 in 66 (2 in 66+) Cameo, 3 finer (4/17).
