1894-O 10C MS65 PCGS. The 1894-O, with a mintage of 720,000 pieces, is a semikey in lower grades and a key date in AU and above. David Lawrence assigns a rarity rating of R.6 in MS64 and finer. Gem-quality coins are extremely rare, appearing at auction even less frequently than might be expected from the small certified population totals. Bluish-green and golden-tan patination bathes the lustrous surfaces of this Gem example, deeper on the reverse. The design elements are well-struck, a characteristic of most 1894-O dimes. Close examination reveals no significant marks on either side. Population: 5 in 65, 10 finer (4/17).
