Washington Quarters
1936-D 25C MS67 PCGS. CAC. The 1936-D quarter is a rarity this fine, and higher-grade coins are unknown. The present Registry-grade example displays a full strike and satiny luster. Bits of russet appear on the obverse, leaving the rest of each side with a faint suggestion of champagne color. A loupe shows virtually perfect surfaces -- a couple of microscopic ticks at the base of Washington's bust are the only imperfections on the obverse, and a similarly unimportant tick on the eagle's left (facing) leg is the only flaw seen on the reverse. Population: 22 in 67 (1 in 67+), 0 finer. CAC: 5 in 67, 0 finer (4/17).
