Seated Dollars
1859-S $1 MS61 PCGS. OC-2, R.4. The date is lightly recut at the bases of the 18. The 1859-S Seated dollar is a rarity in Uncirculated condition, although this MS61 coin remains accessible to some collectors. The strike is slightly soft on the upper edge of the eagle's left (facing) wing but well-executed elsewhere. Semireflective fields complement a blush of light golden toning overall. A splash of russet toning paints the reverse shield. Scattered abrasions define the grade. Population: 3 in 61, 18 finer (4/17).
