Morgan Dollars
1880-CC $1 MS67 PCGS. VAM-9, 8/7 Dash. A bold dash beneath the second 8 in the date is the chief point of interest on this VAM variety, while a number of minor die lumps confirm the attribution. Overall, the 1880-CC silver dollar is rare in MS67 and unknown finer. This example offers intense, frosty mint luster with a delicate touch of light champagne color. The strike is well-executed, and neither side exhibits distracting abrasions -- Liberty's cheek is particularly clean, as are the fields. The 1880-CC is a popular date with collectors, as several major overdate varieties are known. VAM-9 is one of the lesser varieties, although it is still collectible among VAM specialists. Population: 36 in 67 (1 in 67+), 0 finer (4/17).
