Morgan Dollars
1893-CC $1 MS64 PCGS. The 1893-CC is one of three Carson City issues that were represented by only a single coin in the GSA sales of the early 1970s, making it among the more elusive dates in the series in high grade. Choice coins are occasionally available, but collector demand for such pieces is unusually high due to the magnificent rarity of finer representatives. PCGS has seen just 15 Gem or better examples of the 1893-CC dollar (4/17), which in the context of the Morgan series, is an extremely paltry number. The '93-CC is the final Carson City issue of this denomination and holds a special place in the hearts of CC-mint specialists. The current coin displays original frosty luster and well-struck design elements. No major abrasions are observed.
