The low mintage of just 400,000 pieces is one attraction, while the lack of any 1895 business strikes from the Philadelphia Mint and the rarity of 1895-O pieces in Uncirculated grades makes the 1895-S a high-demand issue. A faint glimmer of gold at the centers exists, but this high-end Choice example is otherwise brilliant with frosted devices and moderate reflectivity in the fields.
