1880 $2 1/2 MS63 Prooflike NGC. CAC. This is the finest of three Prooflike 1880 quarter eagles certified at NGC (5/17). The strike is needle-sharp and each side offers appreciable cameo contrast. Scattered light abrasions are not obtrusive. The 1880 comes from a mintage of only 2,996 pieces and is scarce in any Mint State grade. Including non-Prooflike pieces, NGC has seen just five submissions in MS63 and nine finer (5/17).
