1885-S $10 MS64 PCGS. The 1885-S eagle is a major rarity in MS64 and unknown finer. The current coin is tied with just five others as the finest at PCGS, and there are only two coins in this grade at NGC (5/17). Full detail characterizes the devices amid frosty yellow-gold luster in the fields. Light, scattered surface marks define the grade but pose little distraction. We have previously handled a near-Gem on five occasions, all representing NGC or ANACS-certified coins. This is the first PCGS piece in this grade that we have offered.
