Liberty Double Eagles
1857-S $20 MS61 PCGS. The 1857-S Liberty double eagle was very elusive in Mint State grades before the recovery of the S.S. Central America. Fortunately, that shipwreck find yielded more than 5,000 examples of the 1857-S, many of them in high grade. This attractive MS61 specimen exhibits sharply detailed design elements and vibrant mint luster throughout, and the orange-gold surfaces are lightly marked for the grade.
