Liberty Double Eagles
1875-CC $20 MS61 PCGS. Variety 4-A. The 1875-CC is not only the premier Type Two Carson City issue and an extremely popular coin for type, but it is also one of the few CC dates that allow Mint State purchases at a collector-friendly price. This example is at the lower end of the Mint State scale, yet it offers outstanding eye appeal, a sharp strike, and minimally abraded surfaces as well.
Medium green-gold color has peach-gold undertones and vibrant mint luster. As always, abrasions are the sticking point for numeric grade, although this MS61 coin shows minimal marks for the grade. Eye appeal abounds. One can hardly find a more pleasing example for the grade and we expect strong bidder interest in this Uncirculated example.
