Liberty Double Eagles
1883-CC $20 AU58 NGC. Variety 2-A. The 1883-CC is among the more available CC-mint double eagles through the AU grade level. This is a curious reality, especially given the issue's original mintage of only 59,962 pieces. Ample mint luster is evident on both sides and modest cartwheel effects are noted at select angles. The light wear does not detract from the crisp overall detail, but a number of small to medium-sized marks are concentrated on the obverse.
