Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles
1913 $20 MS64 NGC. CAC. The 1913 Saint-Gaudens double eagle claims a modest pre-war mintage of 168,700 pieces, making it one of the better early series dates from the Philadelphia Mint. This impressive Choice specimen exhibits sharply detailed design elements and lightly marked orange-gold surfaces with vibrant mint luster throughout. A diagonal scratch through the top rays on the left is all that prevents a Gem designation. NGC has graded 19 numerically finer examples (5/17).
