1871 25C Seated Quarter, Judd-1101, Pollock-1237, R.8, PR64 Cameo PCGS. Longacre's Indian Princess design. Liberty is seated left, similar to the eventually adopted Trade dollar, but she is accompanied by different items, such as a Liberty cap and pole, two flags, and a globe. The reverse is that of the issued Seated Motto quarter. Struck in aluminum with a reeded edge. Examples were also struck (in very limited numbers) in copper and aluminum. USPatterns.com traces five pieces in silver, six in copper, but only two are known in aluminum. This example is completely brilliant throughout with the usual deep mirrors in the fields and noticeably contrasted frosted devices.
