Early Half Dollars
1805 50C O-104, T-10, Low R.5, VF30 PCGS. Tompkins Die Stage 3/3. Die cracks travel around much of the periphery on each side. The bases of stars 7 and 8 are close to L and Y, and the 5 in the date is close to the bust. O-104 is a rare die marriage, and this VF30 representative qualifies at the low end of Tompkins' Condition Census. The portrait shows good detail, while the eagle features an irregular strike. Steel-gray centers blend with golden accents near the rims.
