Early Half Dollars
1806/5 50C O-101, T-6, R.3, AU53 NGC. The obverse die was initially prepared for 1805 but remained unused when the new year came and a 6 was punched over the 5. The break over ITE on this example appears more advanced than usual. Intermingled toning in shades of light gold, orange, and green-blue adds to the eye appeal of this piece. The wear is even and there are no contact marks worthy of individual mention. This is a pleasing representative.
