Bust Half Dollars
1812 50C Large 8, O-109a, R.2, AU58 PCGS. A raised lump near the inside point of star 10 and the diagnostic "Mound In Shield" between shield stripes 2 and 3 identify the O-109 variety. Die defect lumps near the olive leaves and peripheral die erosion confirm the late state of the dies. Only slight wear from brief circulation exists. Attractive olive-gold surfaces with bluish-gray overtones make up the natural, still-lustrous patina of this near-Mint half.
