Bust Half Dollars
1824/4 50C O-109, R.2, AU58 PCGS. Lightly toned in pastel iridescent shades, this near-Mint example of the O-109 overdate is sharp and attractive. R and I in AMERICA are connected at the base while the C is recut on the low outer curve. Slight wear is visible on the cap and drapery folds as well as on the eagle's brow to justify the grade. Nearly full mint luster remains across both sides of this pleasing coin. Population (both 4/4 varieties): 16 in 58, 29 finer (4/17).
