1879 50C Closed Bud, WB-102, MS65 NGC. A marvelous blend of cobalt-blue, gray-tan, and lavender patination takes on slightly deeper hues on the reverse of this attractive Gem. Sharply struck throughout. Partially prooflike fields offer moderate contrast with the motifs. A few obverse marks likely preclude an even higher grade. Census: 37 in 65, 46 finer (5/17).
