Walking Liberty Half Dollars
1916-S 50C MS64 PCGS. The 1916-S is the first key date in the Walking Liberty series with a mintage of 508,000 coins. While most examples come softly struck, this near-Gem features full thumb separation on the branch hand, nicely delineated skirt lines, and strong detail on the eagle's breast feathers. Liberty's head and the eagle's leg are a touch soft, but that is to be expected of the issue. Each side is almost all-brilliant with areas of light golden patina. Carefully preserved with frosty luster. A difficult-to-improve-upon example.
