1950 50C PR67 PCGS. This was the first year Franklin halves were struck in proof format. The fields are seemingly pristine on each side of this immaculate Superb Gem. The surfaces are entirely brilliant, devoid of even the slightest suggestion of color. From a mintage of 51,386 specimens, PCGS reports a single finer example (5/17).
