1881 $1 MS66 NGC. A boldly lustrous and attractively toned Premium Gem example of this popular Philadelphia, very scarce at the MS66 level and flat-out rare any finer. Windows of silver color appear at the left obverse and right reverse, while the rest of the coin is covered in bold gold, orange, and blue-violet patina with rose accents. Census: 56 in 66 (1 in 66+, 2 in 66★), 3 finer (4/17).
