1888-S $1 MS65 NGC. CAC. The 1888-S has one of the lower mintages in the Morgan dollar series (657,000 coins). Examples can be obtained through MS65 but are largely out of reach in higher grades. This CAC-approved Gem is wholly untoned and thickly frosted. Minor central softness is characteristic, but the preservation is extraordinary. NGC reports 13 higher grading events. CAC: 30 in 65, 10 finer (5/17).
