1868 5C Five Cents, Judd-633, Pollock-704, R.4, PR66 Deep Cameo PCGS. The obverse is a larger variant of the three cent nickel design, while the reverse has a large V in the center surrounded by a laurel wreath and a small Maltese cross at the top. IN GOD WE TRUST is on a ribbon around the cross. Struck in nickel with a plain edge. Struck with a low and high date, this is the low-date variant and is scarcer as such. This is an amazingly attractive nickel product. In fact, it looks more like silver it is so bright and the fields so deeply reflective with frosted devices. The only giveaway is slight strike softness, common to nickel products, over the high points of Liberty's hair, which is opposite from the V on the reverse.
