1870 10C Standard Silver Ten Cents, Judd-837, Pollock-928, R.5, PR63 PCGS. This Standard Silver design depicts a small bust of Liberty facing right. Her cap shows three stars. The reverse exhibits a corn and cotton wreath with the denomination and date inside. The remaining statutory legends occupy the obverse margin and upper reverse border. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. This is a fairly common pattern and the plain edge silver strikings are also frequently seen. The less-common variants are those struck in copper and aluminum. A number of small scuffs and contact marks are seen on each side, accounting for the grade. Deep rose colored centers are surrounded by cobalt-blue margins. An affordable entry coin for the pattern collector.
