1853 G$1 MS65 PCGS. The mintage of 4 million 1853 gold dollars assures availability of this issue in all grades up to and including Gem. The fields show evidence of striations but little brightness resulted, the striations were probably done to eliminate die cracks or other Mint-made imperfections. The strike is complete throughout. A few stray marks on the reverse are all that prevent an even higher grade.
